Mark McPhee
Director, Architect and Passivhaus Designer
Mark is a RIBA Chartered Architect and has 16 years experience based in Devon having worked with hmad architects which followed 4 years studying and working in Edinburgh. Mark has extensive experience designing houses and homes, whether it is working on extensions, refurbishments or new build dwellings. In addition, Mark also has experience with complex commercial refurbishments for Colleges and Offices.
Mark has qualified as a Retrofit Coordinator and a Passivhaus Designer. He is passionate about integrating the knowledge and skills gained from those experiences into the practice’s core services.
Mark isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, having spent 5 years renovating his and Siân’s Victorian terraced house they are now in the process of updating an Edwardian terrace home. This process has given him a chance to put into practice some of the low energy techniques that he has acquired as well as provide practical skills that help to compliment his architectural design.
Outside of architecture, Mark can often be found riding one of his bikes, running or swimming.
Siân is a Chartered Management Accountant having qualified in 2016 and it is her business acumen that helps to keep the practice on track.
Siân also has a keen eye for design and in another life could have been an architect. She enjoys studying plans and imagining how they can be developed. Whilst less likely to pick up the tools, the refurbishment of the Victorian terrace was very much a shared vision with Mark.
Siân is a keen rower and can often be seen rowing up and down the River Exe.
